print your instagrams!

i am completely addicted to instagram. and, i am content with this addiction. how do you add whipped cream & a cherry on top to instagram? you turn those instagrams into lasting works of art, like this: print those grams!

how & where do you print them? here is an entire list to give you those answers…
{keep in mind: most of these sites, you sign-in with your instagram account & it uploads your photos, which is very convenient and easy.}

{my stickygrams adorn our fridge!}

  • sticky gram** — you can turn your fridge or magnet board into an instant gallery. — for $15, stickygram makes a set of nine photo magnets from your favorite images. because i ordered SO MANY, i chose to not tear apart my magnets into nine smaller magnets, instead i kept them in their original sheets & displayed them in sets of 9… i am planning on ordering a set for my mom for mothers day – i’m going to take pictures of our kids with her later this month when we are in utah. she can have a little set of her & her grandkids on her fridge! {for only $15!} also, how fun would these mini magnets be for lockers at school? you could order them for teenage friends as a birthday gift!

**stickygram is offering a deal right now – for every friend/reader of see jane blog that orders a sticky gram you get $2 off!
use the promo code: see_jane123  so, hurry over & order, offers ends February 18th.

  • pinhole press — pinhole press was a sponsor of alt. design summit, they let each attendee submit a photo for a magnet & we picked them up at their mini party! below you can see the pinhole press magnet vs. the sticky grams – it’s a larger photo. i love this size if you want a larger pictures or a variety of magnet sizes. with pinhole press, you can submit ANY photos for their products, it doesn’t have to be an instagram.

{the front of my fridge, the polaroid collage  was recently inspired by a collage my friend becky has on her fridge.}

  • persnickety prints — at persnickety, you can upload one of their FREE instagram templates and create a grid styled print in a 4×8 or 12×12! how cool is that? plus, persnickety can print them for you!
  • postal pix — this is an iPhone app, so you can take your photos on instagram and order the pictures all from using your iPhone! …print four-inch squares {these are NOT magnets} for only 30 cents each. fast shipping, matte finish, professional quality resolution, and the convenience of mobile shopping make this a great stop for instagram prints. they even sell just-right square 4-inch wooden frames!
  • canvas pop — your darling filtered instagram photos are worthy of an at-home gallery. create a high-resolution 12-inch square or 20-inch square stretched canvas print for the temporary price of $30 and $60, respectively. buy multiple canvases for an artful wall vignette! {i would love to do a few of these…}
  • printstagram – the company offers a LOT of ways to print instagram photos, but the 20-by-40-inch posters would be fun for a teenagers bedroom wall. between 50-400 photos are arranged in a clean grid on thick, archival paper for $25. i also love those mini stickers for $10, and the mini book for $12 – that would also make a great gift for grandparents! can’t you imagine every grandma pulling that out of her purse to show-off the latest pictures of her grandkids!?!
  • postagram — this could be so much fun – postagram mails a postcard with popout instagram photo and message to friends for 99 cents each. i love the idea of using these for thank-you’s after a birthday party, you could include a picture of your child with their friend/etc. – or, sending these postcards to friends after a trip when you were traveling together – what a fun souvenir!
  • instagoodies — print books of one-inch stickers of your favorite instagram photos. attach stickers to the computer monitor, phone case, or wallet for a quick flash of happiness.  these could be fun for little kids, too…  imagine a teacher using stickers of her class for grading!  so cute.
  • boo box — boo box offers a gorgeous contemporary frame, their bamboo shadowbox frames are beginning at $20. you must check them out!
  • teenytile — as the name implies, teenytile crafts two-inch tiles from your instagram pics for sticking on your fridge (thanks to the included adhesive magnet), or whatever you choose to create with them. each tile is priced at $4.
  • artflakes — images get sticky with this company that takes your regular ol’ instagram pics and whips them into vinyl four-inch stickers. buy them up in packs of 10 ($21), 25 ($42), or 50 ($63)
  • casetagram — create a custom iPhone 4/4S case with this company that prints your instagram on a slim-fitting shell. You can customize how your pics are arranged, then casetagram prints them on a white or transparent case for just $35.
  • blurb is not just for blog books. softcover books with 20 pages of instagram photos runs $11 and a hardcover is $22. christmas present, perhaps? attention: ALT. attendees – did you notice blurb gave everyone a $60 credit — use it for a few instagram books!
  • instamaker — they create t-shirts, mugs, and more! create a mosaic of your photos and print them on a tee!

readers, what do you think? does this get your mind buzzing with ideas?

crush party 2011.

we started the week of love with a crush party.

the crepe bar was the highlight of the evening. to keep things simple, i made most of the crepes before the party started {our family recipe, here.} then we had each guest bring the toppings. we served dinner crepes with everything from turkey, cheese, peppers, spinach, and mushrooms.

for dessert crepes we had all the fixings: fresh berries, ice cream, whipping cream, caramel, nutella, bananas, apple slices with cinnamon & sugar.

i also made heather’s cinnamon bear popcorn the day before the party. and served it in little plastic cups. this popcorn is perfectly festive for valentine’s day and soooo good.

here is the recipe card heather created:

we set-up a homemade photobooth for everyone to pose with their “crushes.”

cinnamon flavored toothpicks “HotLix” were handed out as party favors,
because everyone needs a toothpick after popcorn!

we had a house full of people we love — thank you to everyone who came!

happy valentine’s day!

xo.

husband and i are sneaking out for dinner tonight sans kids. maybe a movie, too.

altitude design summit 2011, review…

wow. i have returned with fresh new motivation towards my future with graphic design and blogging. the alt. design summit was a sort of melting pot for all areas of art/design/social media/bloggers—graphic designers, artists, writers, interior designers, magazine editors, event planners, fashion writers, all showed up to share everything they possibly could about their areas of expertise. the best part, i met so many people.

the summit gift boxes – retro stainless steel lunch boxes filled with all kinds of goodies. sela has already placed dibs on the lunch box, and it now totes barbies and their gear around our home.

day one: a few of the sessions i attended included panels with bloggers covering topics such as: “growing your community,” {i was so impressed with Danielle from ‘the jealous curator’} “advertising beyond the banner,” {can i say, maggie from ‘mighty girl’ is so full of personality – i loved her the instant i saw her, then she started talking, and i loved her even more! check out her mighty life list, she’s got sponsors to complete the list!}, “blogging personal stories,” {nie nie was great!}, and “taking it offline – events and social media,” {love love love jordan’s events}.

{my friend caroline and i at lunch, check out her darling blog – armelle jewelry.}

thursday afternoon the keynote speakers at lunch were seth aaron and mondo guerra , both alums from project runway.

then a fabulous party at lamb’s grill.
good eats, good drinks, and good live music.

{images via ALT Design Summit 2011′s photostream at flickr}

at dinner, caroline and i shared a table with bev, emily, and christine.
all three lovely ladies from arizona.

day two sessions: i attended, “balancing social media & your real work,” “big creative companies & social media,” and “the art of the pitch,” where i learned truckloads about blogging ads and ad agencies {panel included heather from dooce. dude, she is awesome.}

heather armstrong. {image via dooce}

the second lunch keynote speaker was DJ spooky, very cool guy who describes how music, art, and literature have blurred the lines between what an artist can do and what a composer can create, take a look…

DJ Spooky At TATE Modern London 2010 from In The Not So Linear Universe on Vimeo.

my favorite speaker during the entire summit was tina from swiss miss. she was the closing keynote. her personality is vibrant and loving which compliments her simple, fresh graphic design style.

then…

mini parties!

sponsors hosted gatherings in little luxe suites. each mini party had a unique theme with food, drinks, giveaways, and fun for the entire night…

i have pictures of three out of the five parties. all photos were taken on my iphone, so-not-the-best-quality, and i kept forgetting to take pictures!

sponsor- kate spade hosted my favorite mini party – it was darling!

brook and summer from the ‘girls with glasses show’ blog {and here} were the hosts -

{old & new friends: vivien, melanie, marta, caroline, danni, moi}

(images from the kate spade {photobooth} party, more on flickr)

and, lastly, i chatted with gabrielle from design mom. i praised her for her genius-mom-designer ideas, the summit, and wished her all my best on her voyage to france.

more… new-blogger-friends-to-check-out…

susan from freshly picked, danyelle from dandee-designs, annie from annily green, alisa from modern palm boutique, amanda from {re}cycled consign and design, christine from boston mamas, stephanie at stephmodo, janie at we heart paper, natalie from the downeast blog, and emily from the san franista. {these are only a few…}

sadly, all good things must come to an end.

shutter booth photo booth

welcome, my newest sponsor!

shutter booth!

this is the coolest, most up-to-date, fun {and memorable!} activity you can plan for your next party or event!

we just used shutter booth for kiana’s 12th birthday party.

definitely the unique way to capture it all!
and, wow, the hit of the party!

not only was the photo booth a really fun activity for all the kids {and maybe even more fun for the adults}, but so many goodies were included!

shutter booth was very convenient, they quickly set-up the photo booth right in the middle of our great room! they brought an awesome selection of props, everyone went crazy with these! kelly, the local owner, attended our party and was so gracious and fun to work with.

one extra goody was the memory book provided for kiana which included a duplicate copy of every strip of pictures taken the entire night! the memory book is fully decorated/scrap-booked for kiana to have as a keepsake!

during the party, the photo booth picture strips were all printed with a custom logo “K” on the bottom of the strip, the “K” was in turquoise to match the theme/decor of our party. we were also given a disc with all the images in high-res. which is very nice for a little blogger like me! the disc included every picture in the strip format as it was taken, every picture in a square format with all 4 photos included, and every picture alone. my disc from kiana’s party had nearly 500 images on it! the images are also available in an online gallery so the guests can go home, peek at the photos again, and print them at home.

when you step into the photo booth, you can choose either black & white or color photos on the touch screen. i was so impressed with how fast the photos print! we cruised through picture after picture, i really cannot even begin to tell you how fun this was! i am already looking forward to booking ‘shutter booth’ again in the future for more of our parties/events.

here are some of our favorite photo booth pictures from kiana’s bash…

{i am loving the photo of my mom puckering up with me!}

check out shutter booth on twitter, tweet tweet goodness!
